Founded in 1995, the Monterey Bay Great Dane Club is based in greater Monterey County, California. Our first licensed specialty show was held in 2005, and we now hold our annual specialties in July in Carmel, California.
It is the mission of the Monterey Bay Great Dane Club to encourage and promote quality in the breeding of purebred Great Danes, and to do everything possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection. We encourage members and breeders to accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club (AKC), and The Great Dane Club of America (GDCA) as the only standard of excellence by which the Great Dane should be judged.
We strive to do all in our power to protect and advance the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog shows and obedience trials. We conduct sanctioned matches, dog shows, and obedience trials under the rules of the American Kennel Club, offer health clinics, and generate publicity on matters affecting the welfare of the breed.
